BESA Spearheaded the 1st TESDA-ESL Forum
The Baguio English Schools Association (BESA) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) made history in the fruitful conduct of the 1st TESDA-ESL Forum on June 18, 2019 in Fortune Restaurant Function Hall, with the theme “Strengthening and Nurturing ESL Education through Partnership and Unity.”
BESA is an organization which was established in 2005 to serve as a unifying agent between and among the English language schools in the City of Baguio.
The forum was attended by Engr. David Bunggallon, TESDA Provincial Director, Ms. Hilda Wanawan, Senior TESD Specialist, and school heads and representatives from the different institutions, namely A&J e-EDU, API-BECI, CAN I TALK, CNS II, CNS-JUNIOR, HELP, JIC, MONOL, PIA, and WALES.
The goal of the said forum is to address common concerns from the different ESL schools, from TESDA program registration, competency-based curriculum, compliance audit, and other important matters.
Indeed, the forum has been a gateway for the BESA member institutions to strengthen the collaboration with TESDA toward the successful delivery of the English proficiency programs. It has also been a living proof that ESL schools in Baguio City are one in harmony and in a healthy competition with each other despite offering the same programs in the same industry.
BESA is looking forward to conducting the event annually. – Criselda Tualla, Can I Talk
